  1. I think in the 1700's there was less freedom so people couldnt do certain things. I think today we have so much more freedom like with voting and other rights

  3. Freedom is interpreted differently today than in the 1700's because now there are more equal rights and freedom really now can belong to anyone, not just a white man.

  4. in the 1700s people were very limited in what they could, they didnt have that many rights as we have today. Today people can do a lot more things and really anyone can do them.

  5. In the 1700's people did not have the advances that we have today. Therefore, we have more of an advantage of freedom, then citizens of the 1700's time period.

  6. Since the 1700s freedom is interpreted differently because back then women and black men did not have as much rights as a white man. Women and black men could not vote, which showed that freedom was not the same as it is today. Also there were slaves which shows that freedom was very different for many people back then.

  7. Freedom had evolved a lot since the 1700's, today practically anybody (who is a citizen in the U.S.) can receive freedom. Also, just like everybody else said, there are more rights given to everybody.

  10. In the 1700's people didnt have much rights. Like african americans and women could not vote. And women could not work out of the house, but today everyone has there rights and freedom, everyone is equal.

  11. Freedom was verry different in the 1700s...african americans were still being used as slaaves and workers, and men didnt have the same rights as they do now, let alone women for that matter. Also, in the early 1700 we still wernt free from Great Britian. So freedom has come a long way for americans.

  14. I agree with Jannise, when she said that we owe most of our freedom from the Amendments. I also agree with there being racism back in the 1700's, but unfortunately there is still racism today. But we have came a long way from where we started in the 1700's.

  16. I agree with Shay, freedom was very limited for everyone in the 1700 hundreds. Only white males were able to have it.

  17. Today, people of every race and gender enjoy equal freedom. In the 1700s, only white men had most freedoms. Also, many of today's laws are much more lenient then those in the 1700s.

  18. Back in the 1700s there was little freedom to people in America. White men had the most freedom in America and were the only people that could vote. African Americans and women were not allowed to vote or work for money. Women would work around the house and African Americans were slaves. I agree with Hannah, America has come a long way since the 1700s on the topic of freedom. I also agree with shay that white men were the only people with freedom in the 1700s. I agree with Darby that there are a lot more equal rights then there were back in the 1700s and we know this because it is stated in the American Constitution.
